Yves O. Fortier Earth Science Journalism Award

Nomination

All of Canada's daily and weekly newspapers and the membership of the Canadian Science Writers' Association shall be notified annually of the competition for the award. An award will be made for articles published in each calendar year, commencing in 1999. It will normally be during a calendar year. Nominations may be submitted by journalists, newspapers, science writers or by members of the Geological Association of Canada. The nomination should include an original and six copies of a clipping of the article(s) for which the nominee is cited and a 200-word citation describing the particular journalistic accomplishment. Also include a completed, signed printout of the YVES FORTIER EARTH SCIENCE JOURNALISM AWARD ENTRY FORM.

Yves O. Fortier Earth Science Journalism Award Nominations should be filed no later than 31 January of the year following the calendar year for which nominations are being considered (e.g. 31 January 2005 for the award based on articles published in 2004). The award, consisting of $1,000.00 and a framed certificate shall be made at the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Science Writers' Association and shall be recognized during the Annual Awards Luncheon of the Geological Association of Canada in the year following that in which the article(s) was published (i.e. the Yves Fortier Award for journalistic achievement in 2004 will be awarded in 2005).
