Logan Medal

The Logan Medal, the highest award of the Geological Association of Canada is presented, usually annually, to an individual for sustained distinguished achievement in Canadian earth science.


Roy Hyndman










The 2017 recipient is: Roy Hyndman, Geological Survey of Canada (Pacific). His short citation reads: “For scientific leadership and sustained impact in the science of tectonics and geodynamics crossing the boundaries of land and ocean, geology and geophysics, and fundamental research and societal needs”

Citation will be posted following GAC®-MAC Kingston 2017 being held May 15-17, 2017 in Kingston, ON
